Damning Dozen: Yesterday’s Benghazi Revelations
Guy Benson from Townhall.com has compiled a list of the 12 most damning revelations from yesterday’s hearing. There’s a good chance you didn’t hear much of this because the lamestream media was focusing on Jodi Arias (whoever the hell she is) and the Cleveland thing (newsworthy, but hardly more important than our current administration’s blatant [...]
Stuff I Like: Vine
I’ve recently discovered Vine, a social app for iPhone that allows you to take six-second videos and share them. There’s some really creative people out there. Check it out when you get a chance. Here’s one I made recently:
Cool Vimeo: TXT ISLAND
An award-winning short animation by Chris Gavin. TXT ISLAND : animated shortfilm by chrisgavin from Chris Gavin on Vimeo.
Cool Vimeo: The Lion City
Great tilt-shift time lapse video of Singapore by Keith Loutit. Some really neat effects in this, on top of the always-interesting look of tilt-shift. The Lion City from Keith Loutit on Vimeo.
And Now, the Award for Best Video Shot by a Seagull
This is great. These folks have a Go-Pro camera set up, and a seagull steals it and carries it away. Obviously, the owners were able to locate it, or you wouldn’t be watching this. Story here
Children of the Corn Warn Us to Vote for Obama
If you don’t, the seas will fill with oil, and all our stuff will be made in China. This would have made Kim Jong Il proud.
Cool Vimeo: City Rising
I like time-lapse videos. This a good one by Tom Ryaboi, shot in Toronto. City Rising from Tom Ryaboi on Vimeo.
Cute Alert: Bentley the Fussy Bulldog Puppy
I stumbled across this in the right column of YouTube, while looking at something else.
Cool Vimeo: Big Little World
Videographer Paul Wex takes a trip to Seychelles, an archipelago in the Indian Ocean just northeast of Madagascar. He also composed and performed the music. Nice. Big Little World from Paul Wex on Vimeo.
Cool Vimeo: Peter Brings the Shadow to Life
This is kinda weird. You know everything is upside down, and your brain wants to turn it around. I had to watch the whole thing.
Cool Vimeo: Yosemite Range of Light by Shawn Reeder
This is beautiful. I like these time-lapse videos in general, but this is very good. There are some awesome shots of clouds changing color as the sun sets, and great views of the Milky Way. He does great still photography, too; check him out on Flickr
Time Lapse: Birth to 12 Years in Under 3 Minutes
You may have seen this, as it has been getting play all over the place, from the internet to TV. What a cool idea; though it took a long time to come to fruition. I wish I’d had the foresight to do this with my children.
Cool Vimeo: Snow Globe Los Angeles
This is a neat idea: time-lapse video taken through a snow globe. A Staff Pick from Vimeo, by All Cut Up Films. Snow Globe Los Angeles from All Cut Up Films on Vimeo.
Cool Vimeo: Tonight
Here’s a neat little video for Christmas. Doesn’t look like it’s headed where it ends up. Merry Christmas!
Wow. Earth Fly-Over Time Lapse from the Space Station
This is…mesmerizing. The coolest things, to me, are the aurora borealis and the lightning storms flashing as the space station whizzes by. Watch it in HD on a full screen, if you can.
Cool Vimeo: Framed – an iPhone 4S Short
This video by Mael Sevestre is a short story about a photographer who heads to the woods to take some photos. While he’s there, something unusual happens. This was shot entirely on an iPhone 4S. The quality is surprisingly good. I wonder if the creator used some sort of stabilizing device to get such steady [...]
Interesting Stuff
Good stuff I saw this morning: Popehat: Caylee Anthony’s Useful Idiots Reason: Global Temperature Trend Update for July 2011 – I found this interesting because of the comments section. No analysis was presented with this information, and defenders of both sides of the AGW argument proceeded to stand on soapboxes and shout at the other [...]
Interesting Vimeo: We Miss You
A short from fireapple films in Germany about how we’ve become disconnected from the animals and nature. Somber, and a little weird.
