Wile E. Obama and his council of economic geniuses continue to move us forward, to failure.
The percentage of American civilians 16 or older who do not have a job and are not actively seeking one remained at a 36-year high in May, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Prepare for more redistributionist schemes, you middle-classers. My guess is Wile E. Obama and his merry band of progressives at the ACME Economic Destruction Co. will be taking another run at raising the minimum wage – and putting even more low-income people on the dole.

Every month more and more people give up trying to find a job, and just drop out of the labor force. I’m sure there’s a correlation between this number and the number of people who have consumed their 99 weeks of unemployment benefits, and decided to go on disability. Hell, there’s more people dropping out of the labor force than jobs created, a condition that’s persisted for 40 months.

I generally consider Barack Hussein Obama to be a weak and ineffectual leader and president. One thing he has proven good at, though, is helping to direct the U.S. economy down the crapper. Here’s some more evidence of just how good a job Wile E. Obama and the ACME Economic Destruction Co. are doing:

Chattanooga is not impressed with any of the jobs plans Wile E. Obama and the ACME Economic Destruction Co. have come up with so far, and they’re not interested in hearing about his umpteenth “pivot” to jobs. The editorial board of the Times Free Press doesn’t mince any words:

UPDATE: Here are a couple of interesting images to demonstrate what’s happened to Detroit. They’re both of the same section of town, but 50+ years apart. About 90% of the houses appear to be gone.

The unemployment rate ticked up to 7.6% from 7.5% in May. The economy continues to produce jobs at a way-too-slow-for-recovery pace.
The U.S. economy added 175,000 jobs in May, according to the Department of Labor. Hiring at that rate isn’t terrible, but it’s unexceptional at this point. It marks a slight improvement from April, when a revised 149,000 jobs were created, but still falls in line with average job growth over the last three years.

The people hurt the most by it are the ones who think Obama’s doing (or is going to do something) for them. He’s doing it, alright. Wile E. Obama and the ACME Economic Destruction Co. are right on schedule. Yep: two, three more years ought to do it.

Yessir, it’s definitely lookin’ up out there. Heck, the unemployment rate is all the way down to 7.5%! There really seems to be a tidal wave of people acquiring “disabilities.” I wonder if there’s a correlation in the increase in the number of disability claims to the number of people running out of 99 weeks of unemployment?

Interesting piece on disability in America. Millions of people have joined the rolls of the “disabled” in the last few years. This piece examines the factors influencing the rise in the number of “disabled.” Here’s one:

The Preezy of the United Steezy, that cool guy Barack O. has sure done a lot for the economy since he took office (at least according to him on Twitter):

Blah, blah, blah, the minimum wage ought to be $10, $21, $47, $1,000 – doesn’t matter what number they pick, they’re wrong. I always love those pronouncements about what the minimum wage ought to be. By whose reckoning ought it to be that number? Or any other number? This article in the Huffington Post tries to use increases in worker productivity to justify an increase in the minimum wage.

Ed Schultz is a liberal blowhard, but sometimes he’s an economically ignorant liberal blowhard:

In fact, it ranks 18th on a list of issues that the Pew Research Center asked about. Say, that’s just a little above global warming, which was in last place. Seems lots of folks are concerned about the economy and our ever-burgeoning deficit (Not Obama, though, his work is “just about done“). Funny how much press the sycophant media is giving the gun issue, while the economy is “poised for growth,” according to Obama.

This is a dismal report, and it’s not going to be getting better any time soon, so long as Wile E. Obama and the ACME Economic Destruction Co. are busy raising taxes and implementing new business-crushing regulations.
