Virginia May Have Improperly Excluded Signatures from Perry, Gingrich. A Recount May Be Needed!
By marfdrat on December 25, 2011
Hmmm. Maybe somebody jumped the gun on those disqualifications of Perry and Gingrinch. From Virginia Right: I’m no attorney but I do know how to find and read the laws of Virginia. Various reports have stated that the signatures turned in by Newt Gingrich included at least 2,000 that were invalidated because there was no [...]

A Voter’s Guide to Greedy, Racist, Fascist Republicans
By marfdrat on December 15, 2011
This is a great history lesson. Despite the left’s attempts to tag Republicans as racist, fascist and greedy, history shows us the real truth. Bill Whittle does a great job giving the facts. Thanks to Michael Fletcher for the tip.

Obama Keeps Blaming GOP for Not Passing His Jobs (new taxes) Bill, But…
By marfdrat on October 25, 2011
You’ve heard it again and again on TV as the President travels around the country to campaign for 2012 sell his “jobs” bill: the Republicans are to blame for not passing it “right now.” (zero)bama even went all patronizing, and said he’d “break it down into smaller pieces, so the Republicans could understand it.” They [...]

Which Republican Candidate is Most Electable? Rick Perry, by a Wide Margin
By marfdrat on September 12, 2011
That’s the finding of a new CNN/ORC International poll, released today. Unless Sarah Palin decides to get in -it seems it’s getting late for that now- Perry looks like a shoe-in, unless he does something really stupid, or the dirt-digging leftmedia finds some as-yet undisclosed bombshell to sink him. Yeah, we’re a long way from [...]

Allen West considering leaving Congressional Black Caucus; Maxine Waters considering remaining an Idiot
By marfdrat on August 31, 2011
He should leave immediately, and hold a press conference to describe the exact reasons why, as quoted in the third paragraph. He doesn’t need to be associated with race-baiting hatemongers like Carson and Maxine Waters. They exist to perpetuate the divide between races; without it, they wouldn’t have anything to do – except perhaps make more idiotic [...]

The Debt Ceiling Impasse: Don’t Let the Perfect Be the Enemy of the Good.
By marfdrat on July 28, 2011
In an editorial in Investor’s Business Daily, Thomas Sowell writes about the contentious and drawn-out debate over the debt ceiling. He gives credit to Speaker Boehner and the Republicans for holding out to get a debt ceiling bill that (ostensibly, at this moment) doesn’t include raising income taxes, and reinforces the idea that raising income [...]

Federal Gov’t Will Continue to Run: Reactions Vary on Who “Won” Budget Battle
By marfdrat on April 9, 2011
A deal was reached at the eleventh hour (literally) to keep funding the government for another week, until a final vote on the 2011 budget. It’s a little ridiculous that we’re talking about finally passing the 2011 budget in April, but that’s where we are. Reading around the blogosphere, reactions are mixed as to who [...]

Paul Ryan Unveils GOP’s Path to Prosperity – Expect Liberal Caterwauling to Begin Shortly
By marfdrat on April 5, 2011
70,000 children will die! Old people won’t be able to get their prescription medications! Blood will run in the streets! Dogs and cats, living together – it will be chaos (wait, that’s Ghostbusters, not the budget)! But, you can expect hyperbole along these lines when Democrats start screaming about the “draconian” cuts proposed in Paul [...]

Wisconsin GOP Prevails on Limiting Collective Bargaining; Apoplectic Lefty Fit Begins
By marfdrat on March 10, 2011
There’s LOTS of commentary on this today. I like Stacy McCain’s take: Some samples of the Left’s reaction, first Firedoglake: Anti-Public Employee Bill Passes Senate in Wisconsin; Only the Beginning of the Fight Yeah: The bill is “anti-public employee,” rather than “anti-union shakedown” see? And the lefties — who just lost the fight – insist the [...]

Downsizing Government: Putting $61 Billion in Cuts in Perspective
By marfdrat on March 8, 2011
The Cato Institute’s Downsizing Government site has a little video that puts the GOP’s proposed $61 billion in spending cuts into perspective. When compared to the interest on the national debt, the budget deficit, or the annual federal budget, it’s not very big at all.

Let’s Do Some Shots – To Demonstrate the “Draconian” Budget Cuts Proposed by the Evil Republicans

Herman Cain: We Need a People’s President
By marfdrat on January 19, 2011
Last week Herman Cain, former CEO of the Godfather’s Pizza chain, announced he had formed an exploratory committee to investigate the possiblity of running for president in 2012. In the Daily Caller the other day, he wrote an editorial explaining some of the reasons why he’s considering a run for president, and why he believes [...]

Herman Cain Announces Presidential Exploratory Committee
By marfdrat on January 15, 2011
Image by johntrainor via Flickr UPDATE: I watched his interview with Greta Van Susteren; he’s impressive sounding, and quite confident in describing why he’s seriously considering running for president. Watch it – I added it to the bottom of this post. I mentioned in an earlier post that Herman Cain looked like an interesting candidate [...]

More on the Strange Speaker from Doctor Zero
By marfdrat on January 7, 2011
I wrote the other day about how Nancy Pelosi told a whopper of a lie about the debt when she was introducing the new Speaker of the House, John Boehner. I offered that she’s either delusional, or a pathological liar. John Hayward, who writes now for Human Events, has some excellent observations about the strange [...]

Wisdom from Ron Paul: “Your Money has Never Been Safe in the Government’s Hands, and it Never Will Be.”
By marfdrat on December 31, 2010
From Ron Paul’s website (H/T to Amateur Economist): Perhaps the biggest media story of 2010 was the influence of Tea Party voters on the congressional landscape. The new congress comes to Capitol Hill with a mandate to end profligate spending and restore fiscal sanity, we are told. But when the House and Senate convene in January, [...]
