Which, of course, it clearly was. The perpetrator was recorded yelling Allahu Akbar during the act.
President Barack Obama issued a statement Thursday condemning the brutal attack in London that left a British soldier dead, saying there “can be absolutely no justification for such acts.”

This is just wrong. The crappy thing about it is these military personnel will be denied their right to vote, and something could have been done about it. Officials in these states willfully ignored the law, and should be prosecuted.

I think this is really cool. You can see where this kind of location awareness could be used in automobiles to prevent collisions (assuming you take the human out of the loop, ala I Robot). You can also look a little further down the road (depending on where our government heads), and see these things being deployed against citizens for various reasons, good and bad.

This speaks volumes about the men and women who make up our military forces.
The dedication and respect shown in this story is the reason why our military is the best in the world. Despite the crazy weather yesterday in Arlington, Va., as a result of Hurricane Irene, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier was not forgotten.

Reuters has a nice article and photo collection of dogs in our military. You don’t think about them much, but dogs have been a part of our military for more than 100 years. The recent raid on Osama Bin Laden’s “mansion” in Pakistan had a bomb-sniffing dog on the team. Despite spending billions of dollars trying to build bomb-detection equipment, the Pentagon still can’t do better than a dog.
