How many years ago was Katrina? Seven? And they’re just finding this out now?
Government agency rushes in after natural disaster and starts throwing around billions of dollars in money (that we really don’t have; we just print it) with no requirements and no controls, and $700 million can’t be accounted for. Gosh, who coulda seen that coming? I’d be surprised if that’s all that’s unaccounted for. The professional scammers do a lot better job of covering their tracks than these amateur thieves.

A video showing Obama delivering his “other race speech” on June 5, 2007 (while he was a sitting U.S. Senator) was released about a week ago, and the leftmedia roundly criticized it as race-baiting. Thomas Sowell points out that Obama was lying to that Hampton University crowd when he asked “where’s your Stafford Act?” Congress had already waived the Stafford Act requirement for New Orleans, less than two weeks earlier – and, Barack Obama was one of the 14 Senators who voted AGAINST the waiver.

This is an excellent example of the kind of man he is – a chameleon, a blank slate, playing it up for whatever audience he’s in front of. I’ve never heard him speak with a affected accent like this since he was elected.

A new paper by Dr. Ryan Maue from Florida State says global hurricane activity is at a 40 year low. How can this be? What with global warming melting all the ice caps and drowning all the polar bears, the frequency and strength of storms was going to go up! We were going to have a Katrina or two every year. What happened? Well, nothing really, climate is, and has always been cyclical in nature. Since all the hockey-stick temperatures graphs were made up, dire predictions about the frequency and intensity of tropical storms had to be flawed, right? Dr. Maue lays out some facts about what’s really happened since Katrina:
