Hmmm. It’s almost like there’s a relationship between price and demand. Someone should look into it. Looks like Republican governors are ignorant about economics, too.

State Senator Richard Black can’t think of one.
“We’ve heard about Terry McAuliffe’s questionable priorities, but lets get down to the brass tacks: is he qualified to be the Governor of Virginia? The simple answer is no.

Every month more and more people give up trying to find a job, and just drop out of the labor force. I’m sure there’s a correlation between this number and the number of people who have consumed their 99 weeks of unemployment benefits, and decided to go on disability. Hell, there’s more people dropping out of the labor force than jobs created, a condition that’s persisted for 40 months.

Chattanooga is not impressed with any of the jobs plans Wile E. Obama and the ACME Economic Destruction Co. have come up with so far, and they’re not interested in hearing about his umpteenth “pivot” to jobs. The editorial board of the Times Free Press doesn’t mince any words:

The unemployment rate ticked up to 7.6% from 7.5% in May. The economy continues to produce jobs at a way-too-slow-for-recovery pace.
The U.S. economy added 175,000 jobs in May, according to the Department of Labor. Hiring at that rate isn’t terrible, but it’s unexceptional at this point. It marks a slight improvement from April, when a revised 149,000 jobs were created, but still falls in line with average job growth over the last three years.

Interesting piece on disability in America. Millions of people have joined the rolls of the “disabled” in the last few years. This piece examines the factors influencing the rise in the number of “disabled.” Here’s one:

The Preezy of the United Steezy, that cool guy Barack O. has sure done a lot for the economy since he took office (at least according to him on Twitter):
Our economy has come a long way over the last four years—and we have more work to do: twitter.com/BarackObama/st…

Ed Schultz is a liberal blowhard, but sometimes he’s an economically ignorant liberal blowhard:

This is a dismal report, and it’s not going to be getting better any time soon, so long as Wile E. Obama and the ACME Economic Destruction Co. are busy raising taxes and implementing new business-crushing regulations.

This group hasn’t held a meeting since February of last year. So much for Wile E. Obama and the ACME Economic Destruction Co.’s “laser focus” on jobs. I think the economy is doing exactly as well as Obama wants it to, which is to say not very well at all.

Probably because he didn’t need to. The Obamabots blame the ongoing, continuing, new-normal high unemployment rate -that has only gone higher before returning to exactly where it was when he took office- on the Republicans and the Tea Party.

Whose job, exactly, does it save? The guy at the unemployment office?
I keep thinking that sooner or later the masses of Americans are going to wake up to the bullshit that the Obama administration is shoveling, but since they’re getting checks, I guess they don’t need to.

Are we heading for, or are we already on, the slippery slope? U.S. markets opened sharply lower this morning, to begin “adjusting” for a second term of the new normal.
Congratulations on the four more years, Mr. President. To celebrate, Goldman starts by cutting the Q4 GDP forecast from 1.9% to 1.5% and lets not forget that the same Goldman is predicting a 15% drop in the S&P in the next two months to get the Fiscal Cliff deadlock to break.

Michelle Obama did an interview with a DC hip-hip station the other day, and when asked the question about “what the state of the union is right now”, she told the DJ we’re in the midst of a huge recovery. As the chart nearby shows, Reagan’s recovery was huge. Obama’s isn’t even average.
