Cyprus will join a growing list of countries being financially bailed out by EU countries, but their deal is a little different. In return for being (temporarily) propped up by somebody else’s tax money, savers -the responsible ones, how ironic- are set to be ripped off for 10% of their bank accounts. Once word got out, they closed the banks so depositors didn’t drain everything.

On vacation? Get sick while you’re out? No problem, says an EU court; just take another vacation (with pay of course).
For most Europeans, almost nothing is more prized than their four to six weeks of guaranteed annual vacation leave. But it was not clear just how sacrosanct that time off was until Thursday, when Europe’s highest court ruled that workers who happened to get sick on vacation were legally entitled to take another vacation.

This guy is a great speaker, and representative of the UK Independent Party in the European Union, but it appears he is a lone voice shouting in the wilderness. (H/T Smitty at The Other McCain)

This guy’s speeches are awesome. Mr. Farage, leader of the UK Independence Party and a member of the EU Parliament, unleashes a barrage against other members of the EU governing body for more or less ignoring the fact that the Greek government has defaulted on its obligations, and the EU is set to bail them out yet again. Epic. (H/T Smitty) Like Smitty said at The Other McCain, there’s a disturbing parallel between the EU ministers and the current presidential administration. Debt skyrocketing? No problem, carry on! ObamaCare now going to cost TWICE what they told us before it passed? No problem, carry on!

It’s bad enough the Euro Parliament wants to decide which countries can exercise their own democratic rule, now they are imposing rules to deny companies from advertising what we’ve all known to be true for ages: drinking water (bottled or otherwise) can help prevent dehydration.

As Tyler Durden at ZeroHedge says, “watch Nigel Farage dance on the Euro’s grave.” This is the third speech by this guy that I’ve posted. He’s on fire with righteous indignation at the ridiculous shenanigans of a bunch of unelected bureaucrats, and he unloads -again- on them.

Nigel Farage is the leader of the U.K. Independence Party, and a member of the European Parliament. Mr. Farage is definitely not in favor of some of the actions taken, and discussions about the economies of Greece, Italy, Poland, and others. He’s concerned that these countries are foreiting their democratic governments in deals that try to keep the EU intact. He favors a return to the model European nations used after WWII. In this video, he tells the President and the rest of the Council exactly what he thinks. Watch the whole thing – it’s awesome.

Words I wish someone here would deliver to the boy-king who is currently holding our presidency hostage, delivered in a tirade launched by Nigel Farage of the UK Independent Party at EU President Herman Van Rompuy. Awesome.
