I’m a Wedding Singer (occasionally).

Being a wedding singer is a lot different than all the other types of singing I do. It carries the biggest risk of humiliation.

Crazy Goose at 4121 Cox Road

There are a lot of geese around Innsbrook (the business park where I work), and they go all over the place. They hold up traffic while crossing the main road through the place, and everywhere is their bathroom. In the 10+ years I’ve been working here, I’ve never seen one doing this. See it on [...]

Fun at the Ballpark

Bob, pensive. Originally uploaded by marfdrat I sometimes wonder what’s going through his head – especially when I’m asking him to sit still for photos.

Bully in the ‘hood – More government interference in free markets

This article on Cafe Hayek is about the Transportation secretary Ray LaHood making a big show about “getting involved” in Spririt Airlines’ decision to charge a fee for carry-on luggage. As Dr. Boudreaux explains, shouldn’t it be up to customers to decided whether or not they want to pay such a fee? Aren’t they free [...]

Whose Plan is This?

Whose Plan is This?

Here’s an interesting political cartoon from The Chicago Tribune. It’s from 1934.  Check out the action plan in the lower lefft-hand corner. If you didn’t know this cartoon was from 1934, it could easily be mistaken for a commentary on our present political/economic situation.

Here’s a video of a guy who throws business cards – amazingly well. Check it out: YouTube – Master of Business Card Throwing

Seriously, KFC? Apparently, they're not kidding.

So, KFC is debuting a new sandwich (I guess you call it that, even though there’s no bread).  It’s called the Double Down.  TWO chicken breast patties with bacon, cheese, and the Colonel’s Sauce in-between.  You can get it with grilled chicken, too, but what would be the point of that?  Check it out:

Easter Egg Hunt at Pine Forest

Easter Egg Hunt at Pine Forest

My Mom and Dad had an Easter Egg Hunt for all the cousins at Pine Forest (their place in Nottoway County, VA).  They hid 269 eggs over about five acres.  That doesn’t seem like a tremendous number until you consider there were only six participants (Josh was otherwise occupied, the NC cousins were in Hawaii, [...]
