Herman Cain gives his plan for securing the border and dealing with the illegal immigration problem. It’s pretty sensible:
- Secure the border with technology and GUNS. If that means 6000 armed agents on the border, then that’s what we should do. Obama (*DfOaLG) made the nonsense statement in his speech yesterday that “the border fence is basically complete” – 650 miles out of 2000 is not complete; it’s a joke.
- Enforce the laws we already have.
- Make it easier for employers to hire the aliens who are here legally, and promote the current path to citizenship. Amnesty is not the answer.
- Empower the states to handle the issue – suing them for trying to do what the federal government won’t do is not the answer.
He also spends a few minutes discussing his five-point plan for reviving the economy. It’s simple, and all the steps have been proven to work before.
- Lower the corporate tax rate from 35% to 25%. We have the highest corporate tax rates in the world.
- Make the capital gains tax ZERO. Stop penalizing the people who take the investment risks to grow our economy.
- Suspend taxes on repatriated corporate profits. Trillions of dollars of investable profits will never come back here and be put to work if the government’s going to lop 35% off the top.
- Declare a payroll tax holiday for a year, for employers AND employees.
- Once all of the above are done, make the tax rates PERMANENT.
Genius.
