Josh bought a Giant Vac 13 HP leaf loader yesterday for his lawn care business. It has the ability to vacuum up leaves at the rate of 2,750 cubic feet per minute (cfm), and reduce the volume to 1/12 while blowing them into a trailer. That machine, in conjunction with a 7 HP Giant Vac walk-behind blower and a 770 cfm Echo backpack blower gives him the ability to move and pick up lots of leaves in a relatively short period of time.
This morning I helped him to put together a box to transport leaves in his trailer, and mount the leaf loader to the tongue of the trailer. The box will have a 300+ cubic foot capacity, and will allow him to discharge the leaf pickup into the trailer or swing the discharge tube out of the box, and empty it. Here’s some photos of our progress. I’ll probably add a couple more tomorrow when we finish out the gate in the back, and finish mounting the leaf loader to the tongue.
